How exciting!
We’re planning on spending this coming Sunday (May 4th, 2008) taking the first main hull half out of the mold. I can hardly wait. Only things left to finish up before taking out:
- Take out a few hundred screws
- Sand/Grind the last few patch spots
- Sand/Grind some tape edges
- Tape the under-side of the aft cabin bunk
I’m guessing it’s going to be an all-day ordeal Sunday, since we’ll have to hoist the boat up a few feet and then take down the form-frames to make room to get it out of the garage.
Here’s a few shots of things as they sit right now – I’m VERY impressed with the size of the aft cabin! Glad we decided on this.
Looking forward from the aft cabin. Cockpit floor is on the left and keel on the right.
We drew the trim lines for the aft portion so they can be cut once removed from the mold.
Standing amid-ships and looking aft at the cabin. Cockpit floor is on the right and aft cabin bunk is on the left.
Standing amid-ships and looking forward. Forward bunk is at the center, deck on the left and keel on the right.
