It’s taken way too long for us to get to this point. Between schedules and work commitments, just too much time has passed since starting the port float.
After Saturday’s burst of motivation, we finished fairing the float enough for primer, and I stayed up late cutting the chain plate and putting HD epoxy in to act as spacers
2101 This left me with some small things to finish up Sunday morning (including LOTS of time with the vacuum) and enough time to shoot two coats of high-build primer before heading back home.

Shaped and glassed over chainplate and then put down base fairing for deck on port float
2062 While this was drying I quickly touched up the daggerboard case and put it “away” on top of the scaffold until it’s needed before joining the main hull halves
2086 Glued together the mold for the wing net rail supports (still need to round over the edges)
2072 I did a little sanding before I ran out of steam, and then decided to play with the beam mounts that came in last week.

Outside face of the port float is ALMOST ready for primer. Put the last few bits of filler on the remaining pinholes late this evening but took no pictures. Am really impressed and pleased at how good this side came out, as neither of us thought it would look very good. The outside face of the port float was the very first half we planked, and part of it cracked moving it outside many months ago.
