I just realized that I didn’t take a single picture of the completed center bulkhead that we unwrapped today from yesterday’s infusion. Regardless, that is complete and I infused the forward beam bulkhead today.
Majority of the time was spent with the first foam plank for the hull – as this is something we’d never done before and it took some trial and error to figure it all out. First we tried a piece that ended up being too wide for us to get a shape to hold
then we cut it down into a more managable size and spent the next amount of time discussing how best to attach it
and finally we could progress. I think the first plank took us 45 minutes, and the remaining planks were done in as much time as it took for the first one 🙂
Decided to give the Gorilla Glue a try since it sands pretty easily. Did as much scraping and smoothing as we could while it was drying/foaming, but it appears there is only so much to do.
Didn’t take any pictures but the sanding board (AKA longboard, AKA torture board) arrived with a few other tools during the week.
Time spent: 6.5 hours
