Did not take any pictures yesterday – suffice to say that it consisted of putting some bog over the last areas on the float sides that we missed… While waiting for the bog to dry, we killed time by driving to a few different marine stores in town to look at motors. I know it’s about a year early, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do 🙂
Came back and spent a good hour or two doing the last of the sanding for this stage.
Cut some rebates in the foam for the multiple layers of fabric over the bow cap
The next day I put down the extra layers of fabric on the deck and wrapped and stapled the bow cap fabrics
and proceeded to wet them out and put peel-ply over it in short order
Was going to call it a day here (my goal for this weekend was the bow cap and finish rough-fairing the exterior) but one of dad’s concerts was rained out, so he was able to come back and lend an extra hand and some motivation. Ripped off the peel-ply and put down the fabric for the deck.
We wet this out, smoothed as much around the keel at the transom and the bow cap as possible, and decided to leave well-enough alone.
Should hopefully be able to laminate the sides of the float next weekend and then debate if we should bog/fair the exterior before the float goes into storage or just put in storage as-is until time comes for final fairing and paint… ideas anyone?
